Biochemical Institute, University of Kiel, joins EU DeZnIT consortium

The DeZnIT consortium has been strengthened with the addition of the group of Prof. Dr. Paul Saftig, Biochemical Institute, Christian Albrechts-Universität Kiel.  Prof. Saftig’s group has great experience in the evaluation of the modulation of Zinc-proteases belonging to the A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase (ADAM) –family which has provided insights into the biology of the ADAM proteinases.  This is highly complementary to the existing focus of DeZnIT, made more so by the emerging role of ADAM metalloproteases as promising targets for new therapeutic options.  At the same time, TopoTarget A/S will withdraw from participation in DeZnIT.
