Dr. Garrett M. Morris joins InhibOx

Oxford, UK - August 2008

InhibOx is very pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Garrett M. Morris, the exceptional and highly regarded computational chemist, to the position of Research Manager. Garrett will lead the talented team of InhibOx scientists, developing and expanding InhibOx’s portfolio of proprietary computational drug discovery methods; designing novel lead compounds and undertaking collaborative projects with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

Garrett joins InhibOx from The Scripps Research Institute, where he has held several positions since 1991.  Garrett has had extensive experience developing one of the first and most widely-used software packages in computer-aided drug design, AutoDock, and has also had extensive experience in distributed or ‘grid’ computing, having co-founded the first biomedical grid computing project FightAIDS@Home in September 2000.  In his new position, Garrett will continue to contribute to the development of AutoDock as a tool available to the scientific community under the Gnu GPL.

Paul Finn, InhibOx CEO, welcomed Garrett’s appointment. “Garrett’s wealth of expertise and breadth of knowledge will significantly boost our scientific and software development work, and further strengthen our existing collaboration networks. We are thrilled to have Garrett join us.”
